This Black History Month, we’re highlighting key community members doing amazing work to better Montgomery County.

Today we would like to recognize one of our own! Michael Newsom is the Director of Montgomery County’s Fatherhood Initiative. He is dedicated to supporting local fathers and providing them with resources and tools to be involved, effective parents.

Michael is on the Federal Reentry Court, Chair of the Montgomery County Office of Reentry Community and Family Engagement Subcommittee, Chairman of Celebrate Fatherhood Montgomery County and was recognized as one of Parity’s Top 10 African American Males of 2023!

Thank you for all that you do, Michael! Your work makes our dads, families and entire community stronger!
