Montgomery County Public Utilities has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory that was previously issued for customers in the Springdale Drive, Pekin Road, and Saunders Road areas in Troy. The advisory was put in place as a safety measure.
According to Montgomery County Public Utilities, “Laboratory analysis of water samples have now confirmed that the water is safe, and it is no longer advised to boil water used for human consumption.”
Residents may still notice some discoloration or air in their water lines. These issues do not pose a public health risk, but officials recommend flushing home plumbing by running a faucet until the lines are clear.
“Please contact Montgomery County Public Utilities at 910-439-6197 if you have any questions concerning this notice,” the utility stated.
The utility reiterated, “Again, Montgomery County Public Utilities is advising that laboratory analysis of water samples have confirmed that the water is safe for human consumption, and it is no longer advised to boil water.”
