Montgomery County Public Utilities has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory that was recently issued for customers in the area of Thomasville Church Road, including county customers from Highway 731 to Highway 109 South. The advisory was put in place as a safety measure.

According to Montgomery County Public Utilities, “Laboratory analysis of water samples have now confirmed that the water is safe, and it is no longer advised to boil water used for human consumption.” The department also noted that some customers may continue to see discoloration or air in their water lines. These issues do not pose a public health risk and can be resolved by flushing the system—letting a faucet run until the lines are clear.

The public utilities department stated, “Again, Montgomery County Public Utilities is advising that laboratory analysis of water samples have confirmed that the water is safe for human consumption, and it is no longer advised to boil water.”

Customers with questions are encouraged to contact Montgomery County Public Utilities at 910-439-6197.
