The East Moore Water District Board of Directors has announced a special meeting scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2025. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will take place in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room on the second floor of the Historic Courthouse at 1 Courthouse Square in Carthage, North Carolina.
According to Jenny Parks, Clerk to the Board, the agenda includes approval of minutes, an update on Wadsworth/Manor Road waterlines, ordinance amendments, and consideration of a deed of dedication for North Gate Phase 2.
Recent data from Moore County school districts shows that college readiness among students remains a concern. In the 2022-23 school year, only about 29.4% of senior students and 27.6% of junior students who took the science portion of the ACT were considered ready for college (source). For reading, 36.1% of seniors and 36.6% of juniors met college readiness benchmarks (source). In math, just 25.9% of seniors and 23.6% of juniors reached college-ready scores (source).
