Montgomery County officials have announced that all Convenience Sites will open at 7:00 a.m. but close early at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, due to expected bad weather.

“We appreciate your understanding and encourage everyone to plan ahead and travel safely,” county representatives said in the announcement.

In related local education data, recent figures show that among Montgomery County school districts, only a portion of students demonstrated college readiness on the ACT during the 2022-23 school year. For example, out of 195 senior students who took the reading section of the ACT, about 16% were considered ready for college (source). In math, just over 12% of juniors met college-ready benchmarks (source). The English section saw nearly 20% of seniors and about 26% of juniors reach readiness standards (source). Science scores showed that less than 10% of juniors were deemed ready for college-level work (source).

These statistics reflect ongoing challenges in preparing local students for post-secondary education while county services adjust schedules in response to weather conditions.
