North Carolina’s Emergency Management director released a video recently reminding people not to fall for COVID-19 myths.

“There's a lot of bad information out there, so make sure you're getting information about the virus from reliable sources like the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control or your state and local health departments,” Emergency Management Director Mike Sprayberry said in the video shared on Sen. Tom McInnis' Facebook page.

North Carolina is dealing with COVID-19’s rapidly increasing spread.

Through Sprayberry doesn’t provide specific details about COVID-19 misinformation, he warned individuals should be cautious when relying on social media for facts.

“Everything you see about the virus is not accurate especially on social media,” he said. “Every day we are updating good information regarding COVID-19 on the DHHS website.”
