Village of Pinehurst recently issued the following announcement.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to N.C. General Statute 158-7.1 a public hearing will be held by the Village of Pinehurst Council at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, in the Assembly Hall of Village Hall, 395 Magnolia Road, Pinehurst, N.C., and livestreamed at www.vopnc.org/live.
The purpose of the public hearing is to invite public comment on a proposed economic incentive agreement between the Village of Pinehurst and an organization that will place future facilities in the Village of Pinehurst. Those facilities involve capital investments of twenty-five million dollars, and the retention or creation of fifty jobs.
The agreement includes ten (10) years of grants which will be calculated as ninety percent of the total property taxes paid above and beyond the current ad valorem tax value, provided the organization meets the requirements of the agreement as to job creation. The incentive agreement grants will be paid from any fund sources of the Village of Pinehurst which are not otherwise restricted.
ALL PERSONS INTERESTED AND WISHING TO BE HEARD should be present in order that their opinions may be made a matter of record. If unable to be present, a citizen may submit written comments to the Village Clerk prior to or during the scheduled hearing. Written comments can be emailed to publiccomments@vopnc.org.
