JB Fitness is gearing up to reopen, but gym-goers will have to mark off a new requirement to check-in.
Only gyms and fitness centers meeting state requirements and have clients with a doctor's note saying that it's suggested or required for the client to exercise will be allowed indoors, The Anson Record reported in September. They'll only have to present the doctor's note once. The gym or fitness center must keep a reocrd of the documentation on file.
"I decided that if we do proper protocols, especially on the clean side, and follow the (doctor's) note procedure, we're going to try to reopen," JB Gyms owner Josh Ballard told The Anson Record. "We've had a lot of requests to reopen and I'm going to see how it goes and do our best."
Gov. Roy Cooper's recent order permits the guideline, Attorney General Josh Stein said in a letter he wrote to a gym owner in Wilmington.
"The Governor interprets Executive Order No. 141 to allow the use of indoor gyms or fitness facilities when that use is prescribed by or directed by a medical professional," wrote Stein, The Anson Record reported.
