Receiving almost double the votes for his Democratic opponent, Rep. James Boles, Jr. (R-Moore) has secured another term serving in the North Carolina House of Representatives.

Boles has served in the House since 2009. Lowell Simon contested him. With all precincts reporting, Boles received a 64.48%, or 31,972 votes, majority of the district's support, as opposed to 35.52%, or 17,616 for Simon.

In multiple Facebook posts, Boles thanked the voters for their continued support. The representative owns and operates Boles Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., located in Southern Pines.

In his About section on his website, Boles said he has deep roots in Moore County, having attended Aberdeen schools and Sandhills Community College.

"I've raised my children and grown a successful small business in the community we call home," Boles wrote. "I am deeply committed to the people, community, and state that I'm fortunate to serve."
