Curtis Richie was named the Eileen Vansant Volunteer of the Year for 2021-22. Curtis was nominated by McDeeds Creek Elementary for the award for his "countless hours organizing major community events such as canned food drives, diaper drives for new moms, Childhood Cancer Awareness fundraisers with the UNC Children’s Hospital, an adoption of a Ukrainian orphanage, and blood drives at the school that have collected over 200 pints of blood in a single year."
Curtis was presented the award by BOE Chair Pam Thompson at the annual Volunteer of the Year luncheon at the Weymouth Center. Thank you to all of Moore County Schools' volunteers for all that you do!
