From February 03, 2023 Post.
No one should have to sleep on the street. No one should be denied the basic right of having affordable shelter,” said Commissioner Carolyn Rice.
That's why Commissioner Rice participated in the annual Point-in-Time Count with our Homeless Solutions Policy Board. Commission President, Commissioner Debbie Lieberman, later joined Commissioner Rice and Executive Director of House of Bread, Melodie Bennett, for a meal distribution event at the House of Bread.
The goal of the annual count is to get a snapshot of the number of people experiencing homelessness on a single night. We use the results to help with local planning to ensure we have the right mix of shelter, outreach and other services. Results from the count will be released in March.
