Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces an arrest following an investigation in the Cameron area.
On March 4, 2023 the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic violence victim with serious injuries. The victim was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Moore Regional Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and is in stable condition.
On March 4, 2023 Sheriff’s investigators arrested Walter Junior Ray, age 58, of Cameron, NC. Ray was charged with one count of first-degree kidnapping, one count of assault inflicting serious bodily injury, and one count of assault by strangulation and was committed to the Moore County Detention Center without bond pending a first court appearance in Moore County District Court on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
