From March 8, 2023 post.
For International Women’s Day, we celebrate the legacy of Peggy Kirk Bell, professional golfer, former owner of Pine Needles Resort, a founding member of the LPGA, and an ambassador of the game. For years, Bell was a strong advocate for women’s golf, teaching golf with a focus on helping women and young girls improve. Bell won the Bob Jones Award in 1990 and was the first woman voted into the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2019, she was posthumously elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame in the lifetime achievement category. Bell’s legacy lives on - the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour is the largest girls-only golf tour in the nation.
