WASHINGTON, D.C. – On September 14, 203, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC) joined Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) to introduce a House Resolution condemning New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham for her “emergency public health order” that prohibits the open and concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque and its surrounding county.

“Extreme Democrats are seizing the opportunity to strip law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment rights—which is absurd,” said Rep. Hudson. “The unlawful regulations being enforced by Governor Grisham interfere with the legal and constitutional right to bear arms of thousands of residents in New Mexico. As the author of H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, I will always stand to defend Second Amendment rights for all Americans.”

The House Resolution is led by Rep. Newhouse and cosponsored by 65 House Republicans, including Rep. Hudson. In addition, the legislation is endorsed by the National Rifle Association and the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
