U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-09) has announced his support for the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for FY25 (NDAA), which was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan backing.

"As the representative of the largest military base in the world, strengthening our nation's defense capabilities and improving the quality of life for our servicemembers and their families is a top priority of mine," said Rep. Hudson. "I am proud to secure much-needed upgrades and essential resources for Fort Liberty/Fort Bragg, and will continue fighting to ensure our military has the support they deserve."

The FY25 NDAA includes provisions aimed at addressing the needs of servicemembers and their families. These measures include a 19.5% pay increase for junior enlisted servicemembers, a 4.5% increase for all other servicemembers, improvements in housing and healthcare access, as well as enhanced capabilities to counter foreign threats.

Specifically benefiting active duty military personnel and their families at Fort Liberty, formerly known as Fort Bragg, Rep. Hudson's priorities included:

- $11.8 million for a Special Ops Arms Room Addition

- $19.4 million for a Microgrid Utilizing Existing and New Generators

- $39 million for a Child Development Center

- $7 million for Emergency Water Systems

- Preventing funding cuts to Special Operations Forces

- Strengthening oversight of military housing habitability
