WASHINGTON, D.C. – On August 15, 2024, Congressman Richard Hudson (NC-09), a member of the House Energy & Commerce's Health Subcommittee, issued a statement following the Biden-Harris Administration's announcement of drug price controls mandated by the "Inflation Reduction Act" (IRA).
“Kamala Harris and Joe Biden can try and tout the IRA’s price-setting scheme as a win for patients, but it’s just the opposite," said Congressman Hudson. "This disastrous plan will hike up costs on other drugs, discourage innovation, and, ultimately, increase costs and limit choices for seniors and people with rare diseases - while robbing taxpayers. Make no mistake: these price controls put patients last.”
