The Pinehurst Village Council will hold a public hearing about an economic deal that could involve tens of millions of dollars in investments.
The meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 4:30 p.m. on-site at the Assembly Hall of Village Hall and virtually, the village said in a meeting announcement posted in August. The Village Hall is located at 295 Magnolia Road.
Pinehurst policymakers will listen to public comments about a "proposed economic incentive agreement between" the municipality and an "organization that will place future facilities" in the community, the meeting announcement said.
"Those facilities involve capital investments of twenty-five million dollars, and the retention or creation of fifty jobs," the meeting announcement said.
To participate in the discussion, community members can provide written comments before the meeting publiccomments@vopnc.org.
The deal up for discussion considers 10 years of grans based on certain property tax benchmarks "and beyond the current ad valorem tax value, provided the organization meets the requirements of the agreement as to job creation," the meeting announcement said.
