Southbound lane of N. Poplar St. from Trident Marketing (1930 N. Poplar St.) to Peach Ave. will be closed to vehicle traffic from 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
The Aberdeen Police Department will be hosting the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics of NC on Saturday, May 21st. The route will begin at Trident Marketing (1930 N. Poplar St.), head south on N. Poplar St., with the turnaround at Peach Ave., and head north on N. Poplar St. back to Trident Marketing.
The southbound lane of N. Poplar St. will be closed to vehicle traffic from 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. as the run takes place. Please see map below. The southbound lane will be used for the run. The northbound lane of N. Poplar St. will be open for vehicle traffic so that citizens who live on the connecting streets will still be able to enter and exit their neighborhood. Please use caution when traveling on N. Poplar St. as there will be heavy pedestrian traffic for the run.
If you are interested in participating in the run, registration will take place at Trident Marketing (1930 N. Poplar St.) on Saturday, May 21st from 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. The run will begin at 9:00 a.m. A $20 donation covers the cost of the run and a Law Enforcement Torch Run t-shirt. If you are participating you must wear the t-shirt.
