Following a press conference held  at the Moore County Sheriff's office, Moore County has issued a state of emergency as a result of the vandalism of the two Duke Energy substations. There will be a countywide curfew in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. until further notice.

Duke Energy is working to restore power as quickly as possible, but the damage is extensive, and citizens should be prepared to be without power for several days, potentially until Thursday.

All public safety personnel are operating normally. Please call 911 to report any emergencies. There is an emergency shelter open at the Moore County Sports Complex at Hillcrest Park.

We urge all citizens to stay home if possible to avoid being on the roads as traffic lights are not working. The Town Hall will be closed tomorrow, December 5th, due to loss of internet and phone service. We will issue updates as they become available.

If you have a water or sewer emergency, please call (910) 783-5723.
